Questions, answered

Getting married in Tuscany
with Efffetti.

What services do you offer to foreign couples getting married in Italy?

We help international couples plan their wedding in Italy from start to finish. Our services include venue selection, design, wedding day coordination, symbolic ceremonies, legally binding paperwork assistance, sworn translations and interpreting. Whether you are planning a large wedding or an intimate elopement, we guide you step by step, so you understand every requirement and enjoy a smooth, stress-free process.

Can you assist with the legal paperwork for our wedding in Italy?

Yes. We support foreign couples with all legal procedures required by Italian authorities. This includes identifying which documents you need based on your nationality, preparing Nulla Osta, Certificates of No Impediment, Atto Notorio, court appointments, consular procedures and interpreting for the civil ceremony. You receive a clear timeline with every step explained, so nothing is left to chance.

Do you offer symbolic wedding ceremonies as well?

Yes. Symbolic and bilingual ceremonies are created and led by Italian Wedding Celebrants, our sister team: a personal ceremony written with you, for couples of every background.

Can you help us even if we organise the wedding ourselves or through a venue?

Absolutely. If you already have a venue coordinator or if you are planning the wedding on your own, you can request only the services you need. Many couples book us for paperwork only, for sworn translations, or for the ceremony. Our support is flexible and tailored to your situation, without full-planning obligations. We can also coordinate the wedding day for you, or review your plans and then coordinate: see our wedding coordination options.

Are your translations valid for Italian authorities and consulates?

Yes. The sworn translations for your wedding documents are prepared by Efffetti translations and are accepted by Italian town halls, prefectures and consulates.

Do you work with UK, US, Australian, Canadian, European and South American couples?

Yes. We assist couples from all nationalities. We work every week with British, American, Australian and Canadian couples, as well as French, Spanish, Portuguese, Brazilian, German, Irish, South African, New Zealand and couples from two different countries. Each nationality has specific requirements and we adapt the procedure to your exact case.

Do you plan weddings for LGBTQ+ couples?

Of course, and for us it makes no difference: every couple is welcome and every wedding gets the same care. Same-sex couples can have a symbolic ceremony anywhere in Italy, or a legally recognised civil union, in place in Italy since 2016. See our guide to religious, Catholic and same-sex weddings.

Do you speak English, Portuguese, Spanish and French?

Yes. We speak English fluently and we also support couples in Portuguese, Spanish and French. This is especially helpful for paperwork, consular communication and bilingual ceremonies. If needed, we also provide interpreting during civil meetings with Italian authorities.

How far in advance should we start planning our wedding in Italy?

Most couples contact us 9 to 18 months before the wedding. For legally binding weddings, starting early is important because court and consular appointments may require advance planning. Symbolic weddings are more flexible and can be arranged with shorter notice.

How much does a wedding in Tuscany cost?

It depends on the season, the venue, the number of guests and how much help you need. Our guide How much does a destination wedding in Tuscany cost? explains the main items, and we prepare a tailored quote once we know your plans.

Do you plan elopements and small weddings?

Yes, and we love them. Just the two of you or a few guests: we take care of the place, the ceremony, the photographer and, if you want it legally binding, the paperwork. See Elopement in Tuscany.

Can you help us choose the right venue in Tuscany or other Italian regions?

Yes. We work with trusted venues in Tuscany and across Italy, including villas, gardens, farmhouses, wineries, castles and boutique hotels. You receive custom recommendations based on your style, budget, guest number and the experience you want to create.

How do we start the process with you?

Simply fill in the contact form or send us an email. You will receive a personalised reply based on your nationality, dates and needs. In general, and especially if your wedding involves legal procedures, we will propose a consultation to confirm the exact needs and documents required for your Italian wedding.
